Three killed 10 injured as police fires at protest demo

SAWABI, Aug 06 : At least three protesters were killed and ten others sustained injuries when police resorted to straight firing at protesters demanding an end to load shedding here at Topi on Friday.
Sources said that locals were protesting against unscheduled and long hours load shedding at Topi when police opened indiscriminate firing at them, killing three protesters at the spot and inflicting injuries to ten others.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospital where medical staff was not available.
The enraged mob after the shoot out set Wapda office at fire and blocked the road for all kind of traffic.
The deceased were identified as Hamid, Subhan and Murad whose dead bodies were handed over to their heirs.
