PEAHAWAR, Aug 25 : Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Ahmad Bilour Wednesday said that the floods have caused damages of an estimated Rs.200 billion in the province while the federal government has not paid a single penny to KP government.
“Smart cards will be issued to the flood-victims and they will be given Rs. 20,000 in cash initially,” Bilour said while talking to private TV channel here at Peshawar.
Bashir said that center has promised to compensate the flood-effected and also said to pay 50% compensation to the effected of KP but still they have not given even a single penny to redress the sufferings of the victims.
Responding to a question regarding the activities of the banned organizations in the flood-ravaged areas, Balour said that no member of any banned organization will be allowed to work there and they will also be barred from fund raising campaigns.
Commenting on the statement of MQM Chief Alraf Hussain in which he had favored the Martial Law administrators and asked the generals to take action against the landlords, Bashir said that MQM is the product of Martial Law and war of personal gain is going on in Karachi due to which code of conduct and ethics did not prevail there.
In the last Bashir demanded the Federal government to give the due share to KP soon in order to recede the suffering of the people who had already suffered too much in the wake of war on terror.
