One killed in road mishap, four injured in roof collapse

RAHIM YAR KHAN, Aug 07: A cyclist was run over and crushed to death by a speedy passenger coach while a woman and her three children sustained injuries when roof of dilapidated house caved in here at Shakiabad Colony area on Saturday, police sources said.

According to details, a person identified as Mohammad Waqas s/o Rehmat Ali, resident of Ashrafabad who was going to city on cycle was run over and crushed to death by a speedy passenger coach at the bypass.

Locals rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to the nearby hospital and after autopsy the dead body was handed over to the heirs.

Police registered the case against the coach driver who managed to flee from the scene.

In another incident, roof of a dilapidated room caved in and as a result four of same family who were sleeping suffered multiple injuries.

People of the locality rushed to the house and rescued the injured from the debris of the house and shifted them to nearby hospital.

The injured were identified as a widow Naseem Bibi and her three children Shahzad Rafiq, Shahbaz Rafiq and Ajaz Rafiq.
