First phase of SWA IDPs repatriation completed

MAKIN, Jan 08: The first phase of repatriation of IDP’s of South Waziristan Agency (SWA) has been completed successfully.

Political sources of SWA said that over 900 families were rehabilitated in the first phase in their native towns.

The IDPs were displaced during security forces operation against the militants loyal to Taliban Commander Hakimullah Mehsud in the Mehsud dominated tribal areas. The local civilians were asked to out of the area who migrated to Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan Agency and other areas.

The government will announce the second phase of IDPs repatriation soon after the successful repatriation in the first phase.

Several NGOs under the auspices of United Nation are supplying food and other items to the returnees.
